Zooming in on school sports in SA: Given Mabena weighs in

Last month (September 2024), the Department of Sport, Arts, and Culture and Basic Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding in an attempt to transform access sports programmes at schools. The vision is to deliver equality of access for all young people, particularly those in rural, township, and underprivileged areas. The signing of MoU follows the 2023 School Sport Indaba with various stakeholders to develop school sport at grassroots level throughout the country.
