DW's Carolina Chimoy caught up with former German Ambassador to the US and former chair of the Munich Security Conference Wolfgang Ischinger in Kyiv. He expressed hope that Ukraine would be allowed to use long-range missiles to strike deep within Europe, and discussed his proposal that Ukraine should be free to use NATO weapons in any way they see fit, as long as they abide by international law. He also discussed the importance of Europe's military support for Ukraine. When asked about the US election, he responded that it was vital that European countries, and particularly Germany, are able to defend themselves without relying on the US. 00:00 Pros and cons of long-range missiles for Ukraine 02:11 Ischinger's proposal on Ukraine's use of weapons 03:34 Are Western countries doing enough for Ukraine? 04:53 Can more can be done with sanctions? 05:40 What is Zelenskyy's peace plan? 07:26 What Ukraine means for Biden's legacy 08:08 What the US elections mean for Ukraine and for Europe 10:00 How to convince German's that supporting Ukraine is important 13:10 Jens Stoltenberg as incoming chair of MSC Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/user/deutschewelleenglish?sub_confirmation=1 For more news go to: http://www.dw.com/en/ Follow DW on social media: ►Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deutschewellenews/ ►Twitter: https://twitter.com/dwnews ►Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dwnews ►Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/dwnews_hangout Für Videos in deutscher Sprache besuchen Sie: https://www.youtube.com/dwdeutsch #Ukraine #NATO #Ischinger
