Vice President Kamala Harris 'thankful' Donal Trump is safe after 'assassination attempt'

Donald Trump says he's "safe and well" in a statement after gunshots were fired while on his golf course in Florida. Vice president Kamala Harris has also released a statement saying she's "deeply concerned" with what happened to Trump, and posted on X saying "violence has no place in America". Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, has been arrested with the "apparent assassination attempt" on the former president and may appear in court. The gunman has shown a particular interest in the war in Ukraine on his social media and has given interviews on the matter in the past.
