Union boss Sharon Graham has heavily criticised the government's decision to means-test the winter fuel payment for pensioners. Speaking from the Trades Union Congress conference in Brighton, she labelled the decision "totally and utterly wrong", adding: "People cannot understand, they're grappling to understand how a Labour government could choose to pick the pocket of pensioners at the same time as leaving, for example, the 50 richest families in Britain... worth £500bn.
