Stellenbosch University | Wilgenhof Residence matter back in court

10 months ago 96

Current residents of the Wilgenhof male residence at Stellenbosch University should not pay the price for the actions of their predecessors. That's according to a group of students and parents who are set to approach the High Court in Cape Town for an urgent interdict to stop the University from closing the controversial men's residence. A report commissioned by the University, which was accepted by the Rectorate, recommended that Wilgenhof be shut down. The report alleges that racist and abusive initiation practices for first-year students were conducted at the residence. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
