The South African Weather Service has urged communities to take heed of extreme weather warnings. It says people should not ignore warnings to ensure they stay safe. The weather service held a media briefing in Pretoria following the recent snowfall in some parts of the country that left scores of people stranded onhighways and roads for hours. One person died after being exposed to severe cold overnight while in a taxi that got stuck on snow traffic on the N3 last weekend.
