The South African Revenue Service (SARS) held a memorial service to pay tribute to former SARS Commissioner, Pravin Gordhan, who passed away earlier this month. ANC veteran and former finance minister Trevor Manuel said Gordhan lived out his values every day and showed that true leadership is about doing what is necessary, no matter the cost. He further said that criminal networks at SARS were at loggerheads with Gordhan and that, that was the beginning of an attempt to dismantle the Revenue Service. He said SARS needed to be rebuilt to what it was when it was headed by Gordhan. For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
