SABC achieves unqualified audit opinion

The SABC says it has achieved its first unqualified audit opinion in fourteen years. The public broadcaster attributed this improvement to a focus on financial discipline and good governance. Tabling its 2023/24 annual report in parliament, the SABC reported that net loss before interest and tax, decreased by 77%, from R827 million in 2023 to R192 million in 2024. The public broadcaster further indicated that total operating expenses decreased by 4%, while advertising revenue increased by 7% in 2024 compared to last year.
