Repatriation Homecoming Ceremony | Dignitaries arrive at Freedom Park

The remains of over 40 struggle heroes who were repatriated back to South Africa are expected to arrive at Freedom Park Heritage Site today. Part A of their homecoming ceremony is now underway - and entailed multi-faith rituals. Part B will involve several government officials - with the President set to deliver an address. Today's ceremony forms part of Heritage Month and is being observed under the theme "Celebrating the Lives of Our Heroes and Heroines Who Laid Down Their Lives for Our Freedom". The families of some of the late freedom fighters are in attendance - with many hoping the gathering will help them find closure.
