Plans to boost World Skills competitors

The Department of Higher Education and Training plans to increase the number of competitors for the next World Skills international competition. China will be the next host in 2026. This week 26 young South Africans took part in the World Skills Competition in the city of Lyon in France. Seventy countries showcased their techniques in various artisan skills. All 1 400 competitors are from TVET colleges globally. The aim of the competition is to enhance the vocational education system.
