NEHAWU accuses NW Health Dept of shifting blame for babies found in cardboard boxes

NEHAWU has accused the North West Health Department of shifting blame for the babies that were placed in cardboard boxes to officials who were on duty at the Mahikeng Provincial Hospital's neonatal section. The department launched an investigation last year in May after pictures of newborn babies in boxes made rounds on social media. This was apparently because of a shortage of baby cribs at the facility. NEHAWU's Chairperson in Ngaka Modiri Molema, Zanele Law, expressed dissatisfaction that nurses who were stranded without resources are the ones to shoulder all the blame.
