City of Johannesburg housing MMC says proper building standards and bylaws were not followed by developers at the building that went up in flames on Tuesday night in Midrand. MMC Mlungisi Mabaso says the blaze that broke out at Broadwalk Urban Village spread like a wild fire due to the absence of firewalls between units.
