The City of Ekurhuleni was the runner-up in the 2024 Good Governance Africa Awards. This means the City of Ekurhuleni is among the best-governed metros in the country according to Good Governance Africa. The metro lost its clean audit for a second year in a row after its clean audit three-year reign.
