The Sangoyana community at eMthonjaneni, previously Melmoth, in northern KwaZulu-Natal are calling for the government to help mitigate the effects of the ongoing drought in the area. Small-scale farmers say they are losing livestock daily, as several dams in the area have dried up. They say they are forced to walk long distances to an outlying dam to get water.
