Exploring the Enchanted Mermaid House

Residents of an impoverished community of uMsinga in northern KwaZulu-Natal say they fully support the decision by their local municipality to construct a half million rand structure for what they say they believe to be a mermaid. The structure, the Nkosazane Community Hall was built by the uMsinga municipality. The community says they requested this after the apparent sighting of a mermaid in the nearby uThukela River.
