Electricity| NTCSA targets 11 000 Megawatts of electricity by 2027

The National Transmission Company of South Africa (NTCSA) has been officially launched. The new entity forms part of Eskom's subsidiary and is set to play an important role in managing electricity transmission across the country. Energy and Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa delivered a keynote address at the launch. He says it is possible to gain 11 000 additional Megawatts to add to the national grid by 2027 to build 1200 km of new lines based on Eskom's balance sheet.
