South Africa's consumer inflation is expected to have remained steady at 4.6% in August. It slowed to that figure year-on-year in July, from 5.1% in June. Economists say the 15 cents per litre cut in fuel price in August will likely have had a minimal effect on CPI. It's expected that food inflation would have eased in the month, due to a decline in the international prices of agricultural food commodities, and a stronger rand against the US dollar.
