Auditor-General briefs SCOPA on SAA finances

The Office of the Auditor-General has told the Standing Committee on Public Accounts that South African Airways was given R38.1 billion in capital injections from the government. The money was paid at various stages from 2018. The Office of the Auditor-General was briefing SCOPA about the financial performance of the airline and the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa. The chairperson of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, Songezo Zibi, says SAA is now a growing concern and can at least meet its short term financial commitments.
