7 months ago 81

With the rising cost of living gripping almost all households in the country, the General Industries Workers Union of South Africa has made its own submissions to the national wage commission on proposed changes. From 1 March 2024, the minimum wage in South Africa was placed at R27.48 - up from just over R25 an hour. The union represents workers across various sectors, including the food industry, mining, cleaning and security. GIWUSA President Mametlwe Sebei joins us live to tell us more about their submissions.
