The 22nd Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture is underway at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. This year's lecture will be delivered by Nobel Literature laureate Abdulrazak Gurnah. Gurnah, who won the 2021 Nobel Prize in Literature "for his uncompromising and compassionate penetration of the effects of colonialism and the fate of the refugee in the gulf between cultures and continents", will address the theme "Realising Our Shared Humanity".
