Corruption Watch has released its 2024 Procurement Watch report which focuses on what it's observed as some of the current procurement risk trends. It has found that so-called "contract deviations" had increased in the 2023 / 2024 financial year, reporting that amounting to R24.8-bil, up from R11.9-bil rand in the previous financial year. It also recorded an increase in so-called "contract expansions", taking the value to R37.8 billion, although this was far less than the R157-bil recorded for the 2022/ 2023 financial year. To unpack the procurement risk trends they're observing, I'm joined by Nicki Van 't Riet, Head of Legal and Investigations: Corruption Watch For more news, visit sabcnews.com and #SABCNews on all Social Media platforms.
